Pitocin Mistakes

Inappropriate Administration of Induction Drugs

Pitocin (oxytocin) is natural hormone often administered during labor and delivery to strengthen contractions or control postpartum bleeding. Unfortunately, the inappropriate administration of induction drugs such as Pitocin can have serious adverse consequences. Overusing Pitocin can cause the mother’s contractions to become too frequent and/or too strong. This can interrupt the blood flow to the baby and deprive the infant of vital oxygen. It can also cause life-threatening conditions in the mother—such as a ruptured uterus.

At Hampton & King, our medical negligence lawyers have more than 70 years of combined legal experience. Plus, our founding attorney, Hartley Hampton, is board-certified in personal injury litigation by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is also board-certified in civil litigation by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. When you need a specialist to pursue the compensation you and your family deserve, turn to us.

Experienced Representation in Labor & Delivery Cases

We handle all types of cases involving the incorrect administration of labor-inducing drugs:

  • Oxygen deprivation for the infant
  • Uterine rupture for the mother
  • Other injuries to the baby or mother

In any birth injury case, it is vital to obtain the full amount of money you will need to pay for the cost of ongoing care and rehabilitation. If your child suffered brain damage, for instance, you may need compensation to cover hundreds of thousands of dollars of medical treatment, ongoing therapy, assistive devices and more. Our attorneys are committed to the representation of clients in cases such as this. Let our team fight for you!

To learn more about your options after any medical negligence-related injury, turn to Hampton & King. Contact our office at (713) 658-0231 or via our online form to schedule a no-obligation consultation.
